Summary of Oklahoma Slot Machine Casino Gambling in 2020

Oklahoma slot machine casino gambling consists of over a hundred tribal facilities with electronic gaming machines existing as casino resorts, casinos, convenience stores, travel centers, bingo halls, and more.

Gaming regulations come from a generic tribal-state compact, used by 31 tribes in Oklahoma to legalize Class II bingo-style and Class III Las Vegas-style gaming. It does not include theoretical payout limits nor require that tribes make return statistics publicly available.

Oklahoma

Annual Progress in Oklahoma Slot Machine Casino Gambling

Over the last year, Bordertown Casino and Arena closed when the Eastern Shawnee Tribe decided to reassess its business plans and close the facility in December 2019. Also, the Texoma Gaming Center in Kingston became the Texoma Casino.

In early 2020, Governor Kevin Stitt of the State of Oklahoma demanded the state’s tribes update their tribal-state compacts. At issue was an attempt to improve the state’s gaming revenue by increasing income from exclusivity payments for monopoly casino rights. Ultimately, Oklahoma’s tribes united against the Governor, resolving the “bitter feud.”

Though it’s not as popular as other, larger casinos within Oklahoma like Choctaw and Winstar, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is certainly in the top 5. It is located much farther from the Dallas/Fort Worth area, making it more popular amongst residents in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. In fact, it is closer to Kansas City than it is to Dallas.

Like other Oklahoma Casinos, the Hard Rock has both electronic games and table games available. Though it has a national brand associated with it, the Hard Rock in Tulsa is actually run by the Cherokee Nation, which enables it to compete more effectively with other Native American casinos in Oklahoma. Being in the top 5 is actually a pretty impressive feat, as there are over 120 indian casinos spread throughout the state.

Aside from a large casino, the Hard Rock offers over 75,000 square feet of event space and an assortment of hotel rooms. Event space includes a large boardroom, a convention center and several meeting rooms. It also has a vibrant nightlife with live music playing most nights of the week and a wide variety of dining options to go along with it. If you enjoy playing golf, the Hard Rock is home to a challenging course that’s over 90 years old. The Cherokee Hills Golf Course is one of the most storied in the state of Oklahoma, originally built in 1924. Read on to learn more about the casino at the Hard Rock Hotel and all it has to offer.

Aside from slots, Hard Rock houses a total of 40 tables including games like Blackjack, Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em, “Card Craps” and Bonus Roulette. Most of these tables consist of blackjack however. They also have other popular casino games like Bingo and Keno. Hotel and Resort at Hard Rock Tulsa

The hotel at Hard Rock Casino features over 450 rooms and suites, all of which are 100% smoke-free. Though it’s not as big as some others, when we compared the amenities and features of each room to others in Oklahoma, even their standard rooms seem to stand out among the rest. Each hotel room is equipped with a mini-bar, safe, hairdryers, and anything else you might need. The three types of rooms available at Hard Rock include “Standard” rooms, suites and VIP suites. Each are pretty updated with nice linens, televisions and overall interior design. The fact that there is no smoking allowed also helps to keep them fresh.

Aside from the hotel, the Hard Rock has a somewhat underwhelming variety of other amenities to help guests feel comfortable when staying overnight. These include an indoor-outdoor pool, a fitness center and some small touristy shops. For adults, the pool is opened until 12AM each night, while it closes at 8PM for children. In addition there are also a few small shops located at the Hard Rock Casino, but nothing too extraordinary in the realm of shopping. It does not have a spa or anything like that, which could be a minor drawback depending on your preferences.
