Galaxy S6 Sd Slot
Samsung S6 Edge Sd Slot
The new design of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge does not include a micro SD slot, unlike the Galaxy S5 and earlier models.
Choose a higher-capacity model
That means if you want to expand your storage, the best thing is to buy a model with a higher capacity – 64 or 128GB instead of the standard 32GB model. If you like to keep a lot of apps installed or download a lot of music and videos at once, then you’ll get your money’s worth out of the higher capacity version.

Galaxy S6 Sd Card Slot How To Open
One easy way to temporarily add storage to your Galaxy S6: a USB OTG drive.
The device has a standard memory slot (such as an SD or micro SD card slot) that enables you to extend the built-in internal storage with affordable memory modules, or easily retrieve data, such as photographs, from the memory card.
- The SIM card, which comes in various sizes, is a tool that has grown to become a part of everyday life. However, the SIM card comes in one of three sizes, which can be confusing.
- The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 supports microSD memory cards which can be purchased from any Verizon store or online. Ensure the device is powered off. From the right edge of the device (display facing up), remove the card tray.
If you have already bought your Galaxy S6, then you can use cloud storage apps like Dropbox and Google Drive to store most media files, or rely on streaming music and video services like Spotify and YouTube. You can minimise the amount of space you’re using by deleting photos and videos after they’ve been copied to your PC or cloud storage like Dropbox. You can also see which apps are using the most space in the Settings menu (Settings > Storage). Special apps like DiskUsage are also great to see where your storage is being used. For a more detailed description on how to regain storage space, see our guide to freeing space on the S6 and S6 Edge.

Temporarily access additional storage space
You can also add storage space temporarily by connecting USB drives and SD cards using a USB OTG adapter or getting special USB OTG drives. This allows you to easily access additional files, but isn’t suitable for use on the go due to the added bulk. In the future, it may be possible to get cases with built-in flash storage, which would be able to (mostly) alleviate this issue.
